Nigerian Caught in Sham Marriage Bags 30 months Jail sentence in Britain

These are the people who give this country bad names. A Nigerian student named Chinedu Amadi was caught with a Hungarian lady engaging in a false marriage at Leicester Registry Office. He paid off the fixer about 5,000 pounds with an Eu national Basco-Porkolab so he can stay in london. But unknown to them, Home office investigator who were tipped off by a suspicious registrar laid ambush to them in a small room awaiting their arrival.

Caught in the act: A suspicious registrar contacted the Home Office who had investigator lay in wait for the pair to arrive for the sham wedding

After their arrest it was discovered that Basco-Porkolab was a serial sham bride, she was involved in a sham wedding with another Nigerian Ikechukwe Egbe (who is the fixer)at Greta Green in May 2011

Chinedu Amadi has being convicted to 20months imprisonment,  Ikechukwe Egbe 30months in imprisonment,  Basco-Porkolab 34 months imprisonment.


Co-conspirators: Ikechukwu Egbe, 33, pictured left, was jailed for 30 months after being involved in another sham marriage with Basco-Porkolab. Rubin Durgos, 39, pictured right, was also jailed for 20 months for posing as a bride for sham marriages
