It is disappointing to read the comments of the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, accusing a former Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, as a prime leader of Boko Haram.
The President of CAN as a respected religious leader should have verified his facts before making such a serious allegation that could widen the gulf between followers of our two main religions.
Leaders, no matter their affiliation or circumstances, must avoid heating up the polity because of the implications of such an action. Efforts must continually be made to unite and not to divide our people, so that we can join hands in fighting our common enemy — Boko Haram.
