Nigeria We Serve- Watch Professor Nchor Bichene Okorn on NTA2 Anchored By Oyama Okim

As part of his tour to Nigeria to promote an Africa/America partnership in the growth and development of Africa, The CEO/Founder of the African World Network Organisation,  Inc, a registered non-profit organisation based in the United States of America,  Prof. Nchor Bichene Okorn,  has paid a courtesy call to the Executive Producer, and Anchor of the popular television show "NIGERIA WE SERVE" on the Nigerian Television Authority,  NTA 2, Lagos Network Center.

The Professor who also doubles as a Professor of Political Science, Dillard University, New Orleans, USA honoured the invitation to be on "NIGERIA WE SERVE" on Saturday,  August 10, 2013, where he spoke objectively on "DEMOCRACY, DEMOCRATIZATION AND ITS IMPACT ON GOOD GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA" to the flabbergast and enthusiasm of Nigerians.

During the interview, he acknowledged the efforts of great Nigerian elites and Statesmen like President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria,  Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Ex military President of Nigeria, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Ex Military President,  Nigeria and the military elites who have deemed it necessary to preserve the democracy of Nigeria, and urged them to keep it that way.

He continued, that the Citizens of Nigeria have sustained Nigeria's democracy for 14 years uninterrupted because the democracy belongs to them, and lauded the country's democratization even though he spotted some challenges like: hunger, poverty, and illiteracy still hovering around the nation.

In a conversational, enlightening and highly analytically interview with the host, Okim-Alobi Oyama, Prof. Okorn gave credit to the ruling government and Political party, PDP for embracing good opposition by registering the All Progressive Congress,  (APC) and  stated it clearly that there is no monopoly of ideas and that both parties cannot be right and wrong all the time but need each other for good governance and democracy to thrive.

Although, he spoke extensively on several issues, he proffered meritocracy as a panacea to strengthening Nigeria's Democracy and called on every Nigerian,  especially those in the diaspora to do what they can to promote the country, and cited his organisation,  The African World Network Organisation, Inc based in the USA as one organisation that has continually, and persistently promoted African art, culture fashion,  music, and her trade to the rest of the world thereby creating an Africa where corruption is eliminated, poverty is alleviated and illiteracy solved.

Due to popular demand from our viewers, the programme will be re-broadcasted this Saturday August 17, 2013 on the service of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA 2, Lagos Network Centre at 6:00pm-6:30pm, WAT.
