THE CONUNDRUM CALLED NIGERIA

In 1914, a nation so blessed with abundant natural resources, so gifted with huge cultural heritage and so talented with great intellectuals and patriots was born, she is NIGERIA. Amidst the trials and tribulations we encounter today, Do we love our country?
Do we stand up to protect, fight, defend and support our country?

Have we considered respecting and honouring our country?
What happened to the great Nigeria  We use to know?
What happened to the giant of Africa we are?
How come we no longer care about the welfare of Nigeria?
How come we are so eager to speak against Nigeria?
What happened to the spirit of patriotism?
How come we find it difficult to serve Nigeria?
Where is our pride as citizens of Nigeria?
Why have we disowned our beautiful country, Nigeria?
Why have we allowed hatred and tribalism cut through us and divide that one blood we share?
Why have we allowed political ideologies come in between us?
What happened to the common goals we share?
Why has loving Nigeria become so rare?
What happened to protecting the interest of every Nigerian?
What happened to promoting Nigeria and improving her educational sector?
What happened to improving the economy and eradicating poverty?
Would we allow insecurity, hunger and poor medical facilities continue to destroy our country?
We say we love Nigeria,  we say we cherish Nigeria,  we say we serve Nigeria,  how come we are doing nothing to salvage #Nigeria?
How come crime, corruption, and favouritism,  gains more grounds in the country than oneness/harmony, freedom and sense of duty,  love and transparency?
What have we turned Nigeria to?
Who have we become?
We no longer care about the poor boy on the street who is begging because he can't feed? Or the helpless little girl on the street hawking from one place to the other to make ends meet?
Or the graduate who is reduced to performing menial jobs like: bricklaying because the country can't employ his skilled labour even though he is qualified and deserves it?
Why has employment become like  a horse passing through the eyes of a needle?
Why can't our children go to school?
Or those who go to school Why can't they complete their studies without strike?
Why have we crippled the entire system such that the rich is way too rich and the poor, way too poor?
How come over 50% of the population can't afford 1.25 dollars a day?
What has happened to the beautiful Nigeria I once knew?
Are we really serving Nigeria? Because if we are,  how come the country is deteriorating instead of improving?
How come our mates like Singapore and Malaysia have all passed us and we are still crawling when we should be running?
How come 30 years ago, Malaysia came to buy oil palm in Cross River State,  Nigeria and today is the leading producer oil in the world?
How come we are the 6th highest oil producer in the world and poverty and inadequate infrastructures are all we find in the country?
How come our oil, the Bonny light is the second best oil in the world and yet we have no refineries and buy fuel at an alarming price?
Where is our pride as giant of Africa?
How come the Naira which was once equated with the pounds today is even lesser than the Ghananian Cedi, let alone the US dollars?
Why have we so neglected Nigeria, that we find pleasure in seeing it destroyed rather than rebuilt?
What the hell are we doing in this country?
If we are not repairing it? How come we are so quick to point out who is responsible for destroying Nigeria,  when we played the biggest role in assisting them successfully destroy Nigeria?
Where is the love, peace and joy we once experienced in  this country?
It was in unity and togetherness that we fought the British out of Nigeria and took power, It was in harmony and oneness that we stood against Nigeria disintegrating into Biafra, It was in harmony, and sportsmanship that we conducted the most credible elections in June 1993,
Why can't we exhibit that same spirit and together repair this nation, called Nigeria?
Have we become so blinded by greed, and hatred for one another such that all we care about is how we can embezzle and misappropriate from Nigeria rather than working so hard to give back to Nigeria?
Have we become so weak to instilling morals and etiquettes in Nigeria, such that our consciences have become so hardened towards  corruption and theft?
Have we become so angry at ourselves such that we find great pleasure in killing ourselves and destroying other lives and property, rather than showing love to one another and allowing peace reign in Nigeria?
Why have we suddenly transformed from being angels to being demons?
Why have we suddenly metamorphosed from being hospitable and accommodating to bring hostile and unwelcoming?
Why are we no longer #Nigerians?
Who have we become?
Where did we get these outrageously preposterous and abysmally animalistic characters  and behaviours from?
We have got to cut the slack, get our shit together and rebuild the Nigeria of our dreams where the community man has a say, where the poor are richer than the middle class of the USA, where only peace reigns and love for one another the order of the day. Nigeria can be great if we work together to make her great.

#NigeriaWeServe
