that BBA is a game, and whatever strategy you choose to use is determined by
you as long as it takes you to the Crown . Congrats to Dilish because she played
the game well and won. I feel so bad that Melvin didn’t win because if there was
anybody who deserved the prize along side Dilish, it ’s Melvin.
Now these are the outright reasons Melvin didn’t win. First he is Nigerian, a guy , and with Beverly and Elikem at the finals, votes were divided, which on the other hand could still
have made him win but not for Africans voting sentimentally because he was a
true leader, kind, decent, caring, loving and putting the needs of the house mates
before his. But because Nigeria had won it thrice, no matter how good he was
with a marvellous character, BBA didn’t want to create the impression that the
show is big brother Nigeria, so Melvin was the collateral damage. Secondly, if you
look at the statistics, you will discover that Namibia had never won, just like
Keagan last year was the first South African to win. Cleo couldn’t win because
Zambia had won it, and since Namibia had come this far, plus Dilish ’s character
adding too, she stood an outrageously better chance to Cleo. Elikem however
was affected due to the fact that he was West African and there was no way he
would get Nigeria ’s vote because we had two candidates to share it with . He was
envied by Tanzania because they hold him responsible for Nando ’s
disqualification plus the Feza/Oneal fracas and he lost Botswana’s vote too . If
no Nigerian were at the finals, Elikem would win since it was the first time of
Ghana getting that far, believe me people that if Ghana can make it to the finals
next year , and the person is a boy , he would win. Now there is politics involved in
this as well as some economic implications/marketing strategy employed by
DSTV. Imagine Nigeria winning BBA again , it would discourage the participation
of other African countries because they will have this stereotypic misconception
that only Nigeria wins. To encourage other countries to participate as well as
alleviate some poverty in their region, BBA championship has to go round . If Big
Brother had their way , Karen wouldn ’t have won but because it was
conspicuously obvious that her not winning would be clearly partial, for the first
time they created a second winner so as to compensate Zimbabwe for Munya ’s
failure to win, otherwise how would Wendall win when it was obvious he was the
most boring and luclay was more entertaining than him . You see there are rules,
laws , conditions , factors, determinants that decide who wins the crown because
critical analysis are taken into consideration and that determines who wins . There
is no doubt that Nigeria has got more population and DSTV enjoys more
patronage and sponsorship from Nigeria including Airtel the official sponsors of
BBA, it was all a strategy to market the show and get Nigeria ’s support that was
why Melvin and Beverly were never evicted till the finals else if Melvin had left
before then , the rage being expressed by Nigerians now would affect the number
of people who would watch the finals . That was the last day and they knew
nothing would affect anything now even if Melvin gets touched. My only worry is
that there was no way Melvin deserved to finish 4th because he was a better
character of all standing , but you see, if he was in the last 2 standing , it would
have jeopardised Namibia's chances and caused a whole lot of outrage in Nigeria
because we would have said we were robbed and it would have been gruesome ,
but him finishing 4th creates the illusion that he wasn’t good enough for
Namibia. For those saying Melvin was boring and not entertaining, Dilish’s
victory is enough fact to prove that entertainment wasn ’t the prerequisite this
year else Sulu and Bassey should never have been evicted this year, it was
gentleness, sympathy, beauty, and faithfulness that decided that or wasn't Beverly
entertaining enough but yet was the first of the finalist to be ousted ?
