Pastor, 4 others Remanded by Court over N6.5m theft, burglary

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ court, yesterday, remanded a man believed to be pastor and four others for allegedly breaking into a shop in the city and carting away goods worth N6.5 million.

The accused are Peter Olawale, 34; Sunday Job, 27; Ajagbe Babatunde, 25; Olaiya Saidi, 23; and Adedeji Musibau, 24.

The Chief Magistrate, Adebayo Lasisi, said the men should be remanded in Ilesha prisons until their bail application is considered.

The prosecutor, Inspector Isiaka Ajadi, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on December 22, 2013 at 10.30 p.m. at Igbona area of Osogbo.

He said the men broke into a shop and a warehouse belonging to one Josephat Onwubufo.

According to Ajadi, they stole 40 laptops, 16 digital cameras and memory cards valued at N6.5 million.

46 Year old Woman Dies in Niger State Governor’s Office

Havoc struck today when a 46 year old woman, identified as Hajiya Belkisu Mahmoud suddenly slumped and died in the office of the Niger state governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu.

It was gathered that the woman a mother of three had waited several hours to see the governor but was denied access to see the governor who was said to have a lot of files to treat due to the New Year break but shortly after she was ushered into the governor’s office that she slump.
Source in the governor’s office who spoke in confidence said the woman who was suspected to be asthmatic was immediately rushed to the Minna General Hospital where Doctor confirmed her dead.
Our source said that the woman who was on a private visit was delayed in the waiting hall because her name was not on the approved protocol list of those to see the governor, but being a former staff officer (SO) in the Deputy Governor’s office.

US College Says It Did Not Award MBA To Stella Oduah

Stella Oduah, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation who is embroiled in a scandal of towering proportions in the ministry, faces new integrity questions as her Masters’ degree has been challenged by the United States school which supposedly awarded it.
Her resume, which she presented to the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011, indicated she obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United States. But SaharaReporters has learned from the President of the college that it has never in its 125-year history had a graduate school or graduate program.
Similarly, the school’s website states: “Saint Paul's College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate [bachelor’s] degrees.” There is no mention of graduate degrees.

When the little Mahmud Kosija was delivered by his mother, Hajia Abibat Kosija two months ago, he came to this world with mysteries which had been attracting several residents of Ondo Kingdom and its neighbouring communities to their family house at Igbomoba Street, beside a central mosque.

Mahmud, a son of an Islamic cleric was said to have been born with a strange ear-shape, with an Islamic inscription.
Interestingly, it is said that the new-born baby was shouting “Allah” “Allah”’ immediately as he was delivered at the Mother and Child Hospital in Ondo Town.
As soon as mother had been discharged from the hospital, the house of the baby’s family has become something like mecca. A large crowd came to see the miraculous ear with Islamic inscription meaning, “Allahu” in Islamic parlance.
