Just like the Aluu Port Harcourt incident, the duo of Ifechukwude and Kazeem were returning from a friend’s house when they were accosted by the group of vigilante men who tagged them suspects and took them to the home of their leader, one Dele Asiribo.

Asiribo was said to have handcuffed them immediately having threatened them with a locally made shotgun. It was said that while he was trying to return the gun to his pouch, it triggered and blew him up. He died instantly.

Out of anger, the youths allegedly descended on the two friends and sent them to their early grave.

Clearly taken over by emotions, Ifechukwude’s father narrated how his son was gruesomely killed by the mob and the alleged role of the police in the incident.

Royal update: Catherine gives birth to a baby boy

It's a boy! Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and husband Prince William on Monday welcomed their first child.

The baby boy was born at 4:24 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces. A name has not yet been announced for the child, who is now third in line to the throne.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well," read an official announcement.

Earlier in the day, the duchess and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, traveled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital.

The hospital, next to Paddington Station in London, is where William and his brother Prince Harry were born.

The duchess' mother, Carole Middleton, was expected to be on hand at the hospital.

The baby's name may be announced when the family leaves the hospital, CNN royal correspondent Max Foster reported. Prince William's name was announced a few days after birth, his brother Harry's on departure from hospital.

Some British parents have delayed naming their newborns in recent days in hopes of either copying or avoiding the royal name, he said.

11 year old flees home- i rather die than be married at this age

A video posted on LiveLeak and YouTube on Sunday tells the story of an 11-year-old girl from Yemen called Nada Al-Ahdal.

Looking right into the camera, Nada says her parents tried to force her into an arranged marriage but she fled to her uncle’s house, who works as a graphic artist for a local TV station.

She talks about how in Yemen it is common for kids to commit suicide if they are forced into marriage, and how some children’s lives are stolen from them.

Nada is now waiting in hopes that journalists, human-rights activists and different local organizations will help her make a strong case against her parents who are trying to get her back so they can go on with the marriage process. smart child

30 million girls risk genital mutilation – UNICEF

 More than 125 million girls and women alive today have undergone female genital mutilation, and 30 million more girls are at risk in the next decade, UNICEF said Monday.

Although genital cutting is on the decline, the practice remains “almost universal” in some countries, said the UN Children Fund’s report that spans 20 years of data across 29 countries in Africa and the Middle East.

The tradition involves removal of some or all of a female’s external genitalia. It can include cutting out the clitoris and sometimes sewing together the labia.

Laws are not enough to stop the practice entirely, and more people must speak out in order to eliminate it among certain ethnic groups and communities, the researchers said.

Social acceptance is the most commonly cited reason for continuing the tradition, even though it is considered a violation of human rights, UNICEF found.

The practice “is becoming less common in slightly more than half of the 29 countries studied,” said the report.

Cory Monteith: Glee star died from alcohol and heroin

The 31-year-old (find that hard to believe ooo) Canadian, who played Finn Hudson on the show, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday.

The coroner said there was no evidence to suggest his death was "anything other than a most tragic accident".

Monteith, who had been in the musical comedy since its 2009 start, was treated for drug addiction in April.

The actor is thought to have been alone when he died as hotel video and electronic records showed he returned to his room by himself early on Saturday, after spending time with other people.

The alarm was raised when he failed to check out at midday on 13 July. He had been staying at the hotel for a week.

Police said they believed Monteith had been dead for several hours before he was found.

Egypt: Chief justice sworn in as interim president

The chief justice of Egypt's Supreme Constitutional Court was sworn in Thursday as the nation's interim president, taking over hours after the military ousted the Islamist President Mohammed Morsi.
Adly Mansour took the oath of office at the Nile-side Constitutional Court in a ceremony broadcast live on state television. According to military decree, Mansour will serve as Egypt's interim leader until a new president is elected. A date for that vote has yet to be set.
He also hailed the youth behind the protests that began on June 30.
"The most glorious thing about June 30 is that it brought together everyone without discrimination or division," he said. "I offer my greetings to the revolutionary people of Egypt."
"I look forward to parliamentary and presidential elections held with the genuine and authentic will of the people," Mansour said. "The youth had the initiative and the noblest thing about this glorious event is that it was an expression of the nation's conscience and an embodiment of its hopes and ambitions. It was never a movement seeking to realize special demands or personal interests."

The revolution, he said, must continue, so "we stop producing tyrants."
Mansour replaced Morsi, who was Egypt's first democratically elected president but was overthrown by the military on Wednesday after a tumultuous year in office. Morsi is under house arrest at an undisclosed location.

Everything went fine at the party and when they were done, Iyabo, her cousin Funmi, Eniola Abiodun and a friend, Temiloluwa decided to go back to their campus. Her fiance's younger brother offered to drop them in school. On their way back to school, they had a fatal accident when a trailer hit their car on International Airport road.
